Privacy Policy

Updated 15 Oct 2026

ByteRun is a daily challenge game for engineers. This page explains what we collect when you play, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

  • Account details: your email address and name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. We don't get your Google password or access to anything else in your Google account.
  • Display name: the name you choose on your Account page. It only appears on the leaderboard if you turn that on.
  • Game activity: your answers, scores, XP, streaks and badges.
  • Payments: if you subscribe, Stripe handles your payment. We see your subscription status and plan, never your full card number.

How we use it

  • To sign you in and keep your progress.
  • To grade written answers. Your answer is sent to an AI model, through Lovable's AI gateway, to compare it with the model answer.
  • To run the weekly leaderboard and manage your subscription.

We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.

Who processes it

ByteRun runs on Lovable Cloud (hosting, database and sign-in). Payments are handled by Stripe, and written answers are graded by AI models reached through Lovable's AI gateway. These providers process data only to run the service.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account at any time from the Account page. This permanently removes your profile, answers, streak, XP and badges. Cancel any membership first. Stripe keeps payment records it's legally required to keep.
